Arranged chronologically, each entry represents one year ofthe century and includes a full-page reproduction, along with apage of background information about the print and artist. Theauthors, members of the V A's Department of Prints, Drawings,and Paintings, cover a wide range of techniques, including woodcut,lithography, etching, and photographic processes. The artistsincluded are mostly British, but there is also some discussion ofmajor printmakers from other areas of Europe and the United States.The documentation is especially good, with notes about provenance,print numbering, and physical de*ions. One problem, especiallyfor American readers, is that "V A" is not identified as theVictoria and Albert Museum except in the copyright notice.
