In this issue, we feature the works of Kerry Hill, who is firmly rooted in modernism and questions its relevance in this day and age, and also in the context of the land and its culture. The selected projects consist of various typologies and locales ranging from houses to institutions, with a focus on those in the Asia Pacific region amongst his many other works around the world. The major works featured here are Amankora in Bhutan, ITC Sonar Bangla and Aman New Delhi in India, all newly photographed for this issue. Along with these projects, we include three articles. The first is Geoffrey London’s essay, An Evolving Practice, which tracks the trajectory of Kerry Hill’s career and the refinement of his designs. In Erwin J. S. 冯纪忠先生是我国著名的建筑师和建筑教育家，是中国现代建筑的奠基者，也是中国城市规划专业的创始人。冯先生的著作和设计作品代表了那个时代中国建筑的一种新文人建筑思想和设计理念，其深邃的建筑哲学思想融入建筑教育和文化传播系统中，对当代中国建筑发展具有深远的影响，其意义不可低估。

该书收录的文章都以“当代中国”作为观察建筑、理解世界的起点和终点，反思现代建筑制度和当代中国城市化进程，指出中国当代建筑行业流弊，探讨当前中国建筑思想特质，讨论经典、父权、身份、血缘、反叛等与建筑师职业息息相关的问题。这些文章均绕开我们习以为常的建筑话语，带有强烈的个人色彩和鲜明的文化立场。

不同于其他的建筑宣言，科林 圣约翰 威尔逊的《现代建筑的另一种传统：一个未竟的事业》并没有给出一个抽象的理念供其他建筑从业者模仿。相反，这本书呼吁将建筑看作一门实用的艺术。威尔逊教授认为，在国际现代建筑协会（CIAM）苛刻的正统标准下一直存在着一股“抵抗力量”，这是一种正在延续的传统，一个未竟的事业。这一传统的代表人物有阿尔瓦 阿尔托、汉斯 沙隆、雨果 哈灵以及弗兰克 劳埃德 赖特等。
